Tas Government in the Drivers Seat with New EV Subsidy
With our net 100% clean electricity, there's no better place on earth to make the switch to EV's. Tasmania is the ideal environment for electric vehicle adoption. By making the switch to electric vehicles, individuals and businesses can save money on fuel and make a big contribution to the effort to combat climate change.
It’s hugely encouraging to see the Tasmania Government leading on this by announcing new subsidies for electric vehicles, and other e-mobility options like e-bikes and e-scooters.
From the Department of state growth office of renewable energy, climate and future industry’s website:
Three new programs have been announced to support the uptake of electric vehicles and reduce transport emissions in our state:
Rebates for the purchase of e-Mobility devices such as e-bikes, cargo e-bikes, e-scooters and e-skateboards.
Rebates to help fund the cost of purchasing an electric vehicle.
No-interest loans to install home chargers for electric vehicles.
Programs 1 and 2 are now open. The guidelines for the programs include all the details about how to apply.
This couldn’t come at a better time as the Government is consulting on its Transport Emissions reduction plan until 29 November. Make a submission via the government’s website, or right here on Carbon Zero Initiative’s website.
